MEET THE TEAM: EMMA GRANT

I have been working freelance as a make-up artist since April 2010. I began working on photoshoots, and then gradually branched out into other things such as bridal, catwalk and film work. I love doing all kinds of make-up, whether it be a makeover or blood and gore FX. I started my education in the world of makeup by undertaking a  Level 3 Make-up Artistry Diploma. From there I am now qualified in photographic, media, catwalk, bridal, airbrushing, body art and special effects make-up. In addition to this I am also possess a  Level 2 NVQ in hairdressing. Still in the process of learning more about my art I will finish my Level 3 NVQ in hairdressing in June 2015. One of my goals for the future is to work professionally on feature Films and TV.

MEET THE TEAM: CHARLIE CLARKE

I have been working as a make-up artist now alongside my acting work since 2012. All of my work has been in make-up for film with a main focus on beauty or natural looks. It is my goal however to start learning more about and  branch out into Special FX and Horror make-up. Admittedly I am self-taught, other than training I undertook at my time working at 'The Body Shop' a few years ago. I started doing my own make-up when I began doing amateur dramatics before going on to drama school. Since there was no-one there to do my make-up for me I was forced to learn for myself! My love and appreciation for make-up has grown over the years and I am happy to be learning new skills and techniques all the time, I hope to keep growing as an artist and push myself to learn even more skills.

MEET THE TEAM: LIAM BANKS

I have worked in the world of makeup since around mid 2009 now alongside being a filmmaker. Shooting my own projects I often found I had to undertake many parts of the production myself including, hair, makeup, etc. Since then as my filmmaking has progressed I have found my interest grow in the world of makeup, with me even developing some projects just to test my limits and push my boundaries. Having collaborated with various makeup artists and learning a great deal from self experimentation I have took on the role of makeup artist on a variety of short films and projects and love to create visually compelling effects that look great on screen. My specialty lies in the world of special effects makeup creating wounds, creatures and gore FX. In the future I hope to undertake a professional makeup artistry course to earn myself qualifications in the art but for now continue to learn and push myself where I can, with the tools I have.

MEET THE TEAM: STEPHANIE COLE

I am an aspiring Special Effects Make up Artist, currently I’m self-taught, learning everyday, in every way I can. I love to read books or find tutorials online and recreate the images using the techniques that I find suit my style the most. I love to create anything from a tiny scratch or bruise to a gaping wound. I discovered my love for special effects makeup only recently at the end of 2013. Although at the moment I’m evidently still a beginner in the world of makeup, my work with FREAKFX will be a way to progress over the coming years. My aim is to eventually be able to work with silicone, prosthetics and enjoy a whole new side of special effects that I’ve never had the chance to utilise before.
